i really liked the minimalist concept. the air conditioning worked great in the room, ensuring comfort (that was important). the shower was surprisingly spacious, a nice feature. breakfast was simple, but satisfying, with fresh options.
I noticed a slight damp smell in the bathroom. It was very minor though.

the hotel sits in a very central area. it is approximately five minutes by foot from the s. beneto railway station. there is convenient access to nearby shops and restaurants from the hotel.

I loved the concept of the box rooms. it turned out to be way better than expected. the room was clean and comfy. It was also quiet.
I woke up in the middle of the night gasping for air. there was no window. The air conditioner had switched itself off. i had no idea where it was.

Not a Highlight. Room Issues Present
stained sheetsunpleasant odor
I must say the room condition left somethings to be desired. The bed sheets had some concerning stains. a strange odor persisted in the room. It almost made me gag. I brought these issues to the attention of the front desk, but they did not seem very concerned, sadly.

the location is really good the main shopping street is close by. it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to reach ribeira by foot. staff are friendly.
the hotel lacks security which could be a concern for solo female travelers. i noticed sound easily travels through the boxes so hallway noise is audible.

The hotel has a quirky design with a distinctive ambiance. The staff was very friendly and helpful .
The noise from the Big Bad Bank downstairs was really loud. This made sleeping difficult until the bar closed around 2 AM. I stayed on the first floor, which may have contributed to the problem.
